Arkose Labs Launches GPT App Security

Arkose Labs, the leading company in bot management and account security, has just announced the launch of its innovative protection measures for GPT applications. These measures aim to address the pressing need for proactive defenses against new attack methods, such as GPT prompt compromise and LLM platform abuse.

Enterprises that deploy GPT applications and providers of LLM platforms are prime targets for malicious actors, and the risks involved are significant.

Prior to choosing Arkose Labs, a GPT platform was bombarded with over 2 billion bot attacks. These attacks overwhelmed the platform's capabilities and resulted in millions of dollars being spent each month on computing resources. Legitimate users faced difficulties accessing the service due to the dominance of bots, which utilized proxies and made relentless efforts to scrape the platform's valuable insights by exploiting compromised account credentials. However, within a few days of implementing Arkose Bot Manager, the GPT platform witnessed an impressive 99.22% reduction in LLM platform abuse.

Arkose Labs' latest capabilities effectively counter emerging threat vectors, which include:

1. GPT prompt compromise: This attack method allows bots to programmatically submit prompts and extract the responses. The intention behind this is to either train their own models, resell similar services, or gain unauthorized access to proprietary, confidential, and personal information.

2. LLM platform abuse: This attack method involves the creation of unauthorized replicas of a platform and the use of illegal reverse proxying to copy the platform's valuable insights. These insights are then utilized to create counterfeit services, which are increasingly employed to generate phishing emails, create deepfake videos, and carry out other illicit activities. Additionally, bad actors leverage these insights to bypass geographical restrictions imposed by countries like China and others.

"Generative AI not only enhances traditional cyber attacks like scraping but also introduces new threats such as GPT prompt compromise and LLM platform abuse," stated Ashish Jain, the Chief Product Officer of Arkose Labs. "We are releasing new protective measures to combat these threats and safeguard our clients' digital assets."
