Hammerspace Joins SourceCode & GigaIO for Edge AI

 

Hammerspace has announced that its Global Data Platform now supports processing, storing, and orchestrating data in edge compute environments. This innovative solution integrates Gryf, the first suitcase-sized AI supercomputer co-designed by SourceCode and GigaIO, with Hammerspace’s platform, enabling unprecedented AI processing power in locations with limited or no networking infrastructure. This is particularly useful for capturing large geospatial data in tactical edge environments, such as satellite ground stations and natural disaster response, allowing for rapid data transport and analysis.

Previously, edge environments were limited by non-GPU devices with limited scalability. Hammerspace’s data orchestration ensures seamless data movement to GPU resources regardless of location, addressing key AI workload priorities. The combination of Hammerspace and Gryf accelerates edge processing, overcoming hardware, bandwidth, and connectivity challenges, and simplifies data migration to data centers for further analysis.
